We wish to announce the dedication of the Linguistic Lab research room in the Global and International Studies Building to the memory of our late colleague, Kimberly L. Geeslin, professor of Hispanic linguistics, in honor of her scholarly and teaching achievements at Indiana University Bloomington, as well as her distinguished career as a researcher who had a great impact on the profession. The lab is now the Kimberly L. Geeslin Research Room.
Professor Geeslin became a professor of Spanish and Portuguese in the College of Arts and Sciences in 1999, and focused on the second language acquisition of Spanish. Professor Geeslin was exceptional in both her scholarly and administrative pursuits, serving as author and editor of nine books and over 85 article-length publications. Her impactful scholarly production was also employed to teach both graduate and undergraduate classes throughout the U.S. and internationally, helping to shape future generations of linguists.
